PFLAG/PROVIDENCE SADLY ANNOUNCES THE PASSING OF EILEEN GRAY
GRAY, EILEEN L. (GRAY), passed away on January 21, at Hebrew Senior Life in Roslindale, MA.
Born in Everett and raised in Chelsea, MA, daughter of the late Harry and Pauline Libman, she lived in Providence and Cranston, RI for over fifty years. A graduate of Mary Brooks College, Eileen was a laboratory technician at the Lying-In Hospital, and for Dr. Earl Cohen, a Providence pediatrician. Eileen later became a telemarketer, first with her own business and then with Ross-Simons Jewelers. She was a member of Temple Torat Yisrael in Cranston, a former actor with Barker Players, a member of the Providence chapter of PFLAG, a longtime volunteer at AIDS Project RI, and an active member of the AIDS Task Force of the Jewish Federation of RI.
She was a devoted mother to Robin Paige-Polishook and her husband Bruce of Newton, MA, and Marc Paige and his partner Rene Barrientos. She was the dear sister of Bernice (Bunny) Pearlson and her husband Melvin, and an adoring grandmother to Stacey and Lindsey Polishook. She also leaves behind her loving partner of seven years, Daniel Adler of Narragansett, RI and many family members and friends.
Her funeral service will be held Sunday at 11 AM in the SUGARMAN-SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 458 Hope Street, Providence, followed by interment at Lincoln Park Cemetery in Warwick. Immediately following interment, Shiva will be observed at the Marriott Hotel, 1 Orms Street, Providence, on Sunday, January 24 from 1 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, and Monday January 25 from 1 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Shiva will continue at the home of Eileen's daughter, 121 Forest Avenue, Newton, MA on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 1 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
